Building a Home for Music and Community
In March 2027, Alcester Victoria Silver Band will celebrate an incredible milestone: 130 years of serving and entertaining our community.
Throughout our long history, we have performed at concerts, civic events and celebrations, introduced countless people to brass banding, and helped generations of musicians develop their skills. Yet despite 130 years of service, we have never had a permanent home of our own.
Today, we are embarking on our most ambitious project yet: the creation of a dedicated bandroom and community venue for Alcester.

Why We Need a Bandroom
Over the last few years, our band has experienced significant growth. While many organisations struggled in the aftermath of the pandemic, our membership increased, our junior programme flourished and interest in joining the band continued to grow.
Our current rehearsal space can no longer meet our needs. Every week, volunteers transport and set up large brass instruments, percussion equipment and music from storage locations across the town before rehearsals can begin. Our extensive music library and band equipment are currently housed across multiple sites, thanks to the generosity of local businesses.
To continue growing and developing future generations of musicians, we need a permanent home.

Investing in Future Generations
One of our greatest successes has been the development of young musicians. Several former junior band members are now valued members of the senior band, demonstrating the positive impact that accessible music education can have.
We are proud to provide subsidised access to instruments and musical tuition for young people in Alcester and the surrounding area. A dedicated bandroom would allow us to expand this work, grow our junior band, create new ensembles and provide opportunities for even more people to discover the joy of making music.
We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to learn, perform and belong. A permanent home would help us continue sharing that opportunity for generations to come.

A Venue for the Whole Community
This project is about much more than the bandroom.
We want the building to become a welcoming community space that can be used by local organisations, charities and community groups. We are already in discussions with organisations including Autism West Midlands and Andy’s Man Club about how they could benefit from the facility.
The venue would also be available for activities such as choir rehearsals, Pilates classes, meetings, workshops and other community events, creating a valuable resource for the people of Alcester and the surrounding area.

How You Can Help
The total project cost is expected to exceed £1 million, which we aim to raise through grants, fundraising events, corporate support and public donations.
Our crowdfunding campaign target of £500,000 is a crucial step towards making this vision a reality.
By supporting this project, you are not only helping us build a bandroom. You are helping to create a lasting community asset that will support music, learning, wellbeing and community connections for many years to come.
With your help, we can ensure that the legacy of Alcester Victoria Silver Band continues to thrive for the next 130 years and beyond.
