Busy Week

It has been a busy week for our youngest player, Jenny Richardson, who plays solo cornet with the band. Having just been away with the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain where she was principal second cornet and played in Stoller Hall in Manchester on Saturday, on Monday she was one of the first participants of The Cory Band’s side-by-side program. The program allows talented young musicians to play with Cory as part of a rehearsal, so Jenny was sat next to Tom Hutchinson on the front row as the band prepared for a concert at the weekend and worked on their own choice test piece for the upcoming European Brass Band Championships. Jenny loved the experience, especially that it was just treated as a normal rehearsal – it has really given her a taste for what she wants for the future!
