As part of our ongoing fund raising, the band is hosting a Spring Fete on 11th May. As well as the band providing entertainment throughout the afternoon there will be craft stalls and traditional fete stalls like Hook-a-Duck and a Coconut Shy.

After a busy Christmas period including an impromptu performance in spinning teacups and a capacity Christmas concert where Nicole Flaherty was named as the most improved player, we are back in the rehearsal room working on our new music for the upcoming season.

The first rehearsal after the remembrance weekend is the band’s official start of Christmas and is designated “Christmas Jumper Rehearsal”. This year the band did not disappoint! We’re excited to start working on our Christmas program and look forward to seeing you at out Christmas

The band was proud to once again be part of Alcester’s remembrance weekend. We were able to raise funds for the Royal British Legion with a concert in St Nicholas’ Church on the Saturday night and then led the parade up the High Street on

Like many bands up and down the country we were privileged to be involved our local community’s coronation celebrations. The Alcester Court Leet invited us to perform on the church green in the centre of the town whilst the street party was going on.

It has been a busy week for our youngest player, Jenny Richardson, who plays solo cornet with the band. Having just been away with the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain where she was principal second cornet and played in Stoller Hall in Manchester

The band was able to hold its annual Christmas concert on 19th December at St Nicholas’ Church in Alcester for the first time since 2019. A large, appreciative audience was treated to a mix of traditional concert fare with Jenny Richardson performing Christopher Bond’s Song

The band was out playing carols at the weekend, providing entertainment at the Christmas lights switch on events for Henley-in-Arden and Alcester. We will be in Honeybourne on Friday and at Forge Mill on Sunday. Preparations are well underway for our Christmas concert on 19th
