Oom-Pah and Memorial
After another successful Summer of bandstands and the always welcome Pershore Midsummer Brass we have a had a couple of different performances to the norm. First up, we played throughout the day at The Royal Oak’s first Oaktoberfest – raising money for Headstart and the band. Learning the new Oom-pah style music was a challenge, but the band and punters had a great time and hope to do the same next year.
Sadly, we lost one of our ex-conductors, Dave Stanley last year. Dave was a giant of brass banding, in more ways than one, and we were very proud to the invited by his last band Arrow Valley Brass long with Bretforton Silver to take part in a memorial concert. It was a lovely occasion and a fitting tribute.
