Return to Pershore
The band was pleased and excited to be able to return to perform at Pershore Midsummer Brass this weekend after the event hadn’t been held for 3 years due to the pandemic.
We were involved from the off with members of our cornet section playing the fanfare to open the event before our main spot at The Angel at lunchtime. Despite the less than ideal weather, a good sized audience were treated to a wide selection of music. Opening with Clive Barraclough’s Simoraine, we included pop songs, film scores and our featured soloists – Jenny Richardson (Nikita – cornet), Joe Cheshire (Blaydon Races – euphonium) and Ian “Liquid Gold” Jones (Autumn Leaves – flugel), before closing with Masters of the Universe.
As a band family, we love the opportunity that Pershore Midsummer Brass gives us to perform, listen to some other wonderful bands and catch up with friends in the brass band community. We are already looking forward to next year’s event.
